Anger and Hypnotherapy

Anger is often regarded as a negative emotion, when in fact it is natural, healthy response to a situation. It’s a defensive response, often as a result of frustration or feeling powerless and it is there, primarily, to keep us safe. We are taught from a young age that it is ok to express anxiety or other emotions but not anger. As a result of this we don’t know how to handle it which can then create problems. It can become destructive and frightening for the person experiencing it and for those around them – and in these cases it is good to seek some professional help.
Angry people tend to be demanding. They expect things to go their way and then when they don’t they turn that disappointment into aggression. Understanding why you are feeling this way and taking a logical approach will help you to balance your perspective. Being aware of the triggers and then developing strategies to handle your anger will help you to feel more in control.
Often our upbringing is key to why we react in the way we do to certain situations. There are also different types of anger – passive aggression can be just as destructive in relationships as more assertive anger. However, there are ways of deploying angry feelings safely and successfully.
Anger and Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy works with the subconscious mind. The subconscious is where all our learned behaviours live. It works away in the background matching thoughts with actions and is the reason why we always react in the same way to certain triggers. Hypnotherapy can create positive shifts in the subconscious mind – so instead of a defensive and angry response you will be able to express yourself calmly, identify possible solutions and channel disappointment in a constructive way. This can have a huge impact on health, self-esteem, communication and relationships.
I work with adults, teenagers and children to develop coping strategies with anger and hypnotherapy, in order to balance perspective. When we shift our thinking it becomes possible to look at things with the best intentions and it no longer feels like an “all or nothing” situation.
We often feel that our anger is justified – that no one understands us – but what if there was a way to change our response and still feel strong and in control? Does anger really work for you or would you prefer to be able to react in a calm measured way in order to achieve your goals?
An anger and hypnotherapy session, will help you to stop and think first before you react, give you practical tools and help you to let go of the negative physiological and mental effects anger creates so you can completely trust in yourself and feel calm.
