Hypnotherapy is a complementary therapy that uses hypnosis to make positive changes in order to improve wellbeing.
Over the years I have helped many women gain better health with hypnotherapy – from improving fertility, transitioning through the menopause as well as more specific gynaecological conditions.
Vaginismus
Vaginismus is a debilitating condition that can affect women of all ages, where involuntary muscle spasm can make vaginal intercourse extremely painful or stop it completely. It is the body’s automatic reaction to a fear or past trauma and you have no conscious control over it.
It’s not something that women generally talk about or share, and it can feel incredibly isolating – so I decided to write a blog in the hope that I would reach out to those who were struggling with this. It worked! I am now seeing more clients than ever with this condition and hypnotherapy is having such a positive effect on their lives and sexual wellbeing.
Hypnotherapy is an incredibly effective and therapeutic way of addressing all of these issues as well as many others. Through a combination of relaxation techniques, guided imagery and positive suggestions, I can help you to overcome the symptoms that these conditions bring.
Fertility
It is commonly accepted that stress and fear of loss can create a negative mindset. About one in five couples will experience unexplained infertility (no medical problems, but an inability to conceive).
Hypnotherapy is an effective way to help women alleviate the stress and anxiety that can negatively affect fertility and reduce the chances of conception. We take a holistic approach - balancing relaxation, sleep, nutrition and exercise. I can help you to re-set and shift your focus, so you will see yourself as fertile and ready for a baby which has a positive effect on your mind and body.
Menopause
This is a time of natural transition for women, and hypnotherapy will help you to re-frame it in your mind as a time of liberation. I can help you to feel empowered and to manage the sometimes debilitating symptoms, which can include hot flushes, brain fog and menopause related anxiety.
During the peri-menopause and menopause, women can find their metabolism slowing down and this can result in weight gain. Hypnotherapy will help you to re-program your mind with a measured and mindful response to eating so that you can achieve your weight loss goals.
Menopause also coincides with other changes in life to do with work, problems with relationships, children leaving home and bereavement. Women can find themselves relying on alcohol as a coping mechanism and feel depressed and lacking in self-belief. I can tailor sessions to whatever specific issues you are going through and get you back on track.
