Lizzie Smith Hypnotherapy - confidence

Hypnotherapy has an incredibly therapeutic effect and often, just taking some time out to chat things through will have a really positive outcome on your state of mind.

With hypnosis, we bypass the conscious thought process, so it is a fast way to feel better. Clients are often amazed how quickly they are able to focus on what is possible and feel confident about achieving it.

Whenever I ask a client how confident they feel, they invariably tell me a low number. Confidence is something most of us struggle with.  Even the most seemingly “accomplished” can really struggle with a lack of self-belief. Confidence can be knocked easily and I have recently been aware how this has become something of a problem for many young people getting back to the office after the pandemic.

We have become used to working in front of a screen from home and to a lack of socialisation, so having to get back on trains and buses to work, with all the hustle and bustle that creates, can be challenging. Going to busy restaurants and bars can feel claustrophobic and impact on this too. Having to face colleagues in meetings or present in person can be another hurdle. Professionals who have never struggled with this before find themselves facing a real crisis of confidence and suddenly feeling vulnerable.

I recently worked with a 33 year old who was going through this precise issue. She had not had any traumas during the pandemic but had just got used to working from home with her boyfriend in the next room and not going out much. She found that when she started commuting again she was completely overwhelmed being on a packed train. This happened again during a busy meeting and the panic she felt was very destabilising. She couldn’t understand what was going on and why it was happening? She had always felt confident in her role at work and had been looking forward to getting back to the office and all the connections this brings.

The good news is that after her first session she was feeling much calmer and had her first good nights sleep since this had happened. By the second session we had boosted her confidence and she was feeling empowered and back on track. She had some tools to help her to re-enforce the work we had done and this contributed to her sense of feeling back in control.

The hypnosis created a positive shift in her subconscious. She’s now feeling good and has booked in again in a few weeks because she enjoyed the restorative effects of the session so much. She has realised the importance of supporting her mind with regular maintenance hypnotherapy.

So if any of this resonates with you, why not take some time out to prioritise yourself and get in touch for an online appointment. Hypnotherapy is a safe and relaxing way to implement positive thoughts and coping strategies so you will feel confident in yourself again.
