Hypnotherapy and Ageing

It’s not about how we look – it’s how we feel.
There does seem a great deal of anxiety around getting older – and this is particularly relevant as we approach birthdays with a zero! We start to reflect on the past decades, and as we age, we can become anxious about what lies ahead. I have noticed recently from chatting to clients a realisation that they are struggling with the concept of ageing – it was described to me as “an unwelcome consciousness” – a feeling of vulnerability, doubt, a lack of energy and purpose. It can be very destabilising when everything seems a bit grey. This is also a time when we can experience illness, loss and sadness, and we can start to focus on our own mortality and become fearful.
As human beings, we are conditioned to think negatively, so it does not always come naturally to put a positive spin on things. Our brains are wired to react quickly to what we perceive as threats, so releasing the anxiety this causes and finding calm and inner peace can be challenging.
Hypnotherapy and Ageing
Hypnotherapy will help you to find clarity and calm. It is an extremely restorative way to spend an hour. Talking with a trained professional will help you with reorientation by re-framing how you feel about this next stage in life. I can help you to feel confident and connected and to harness that essence of youth you still have.
It’s never too late to make a change. We tend to be our own harshest critics, and our learned behaviours keep us safely in our comfort zone. Hypnotherapy can help you to champion your inner coach and to remove the blocks that may be in the way. When you start to believe you are good enough, you will focus on what is possible and create those positive shifts. Think about what you loved in your younger self – it’s still there, and you can use it to re-frame the way you feel now.
I certainly never believed that I would be doing some of the things that I do now. I appreciate the benefits of my life experience but I am enjoying living in the moment, and I do believe some of my best years are yet to come!
So, if any of this resonates with you and you would like to “sow the seeds of positive change” about ageing, then do get in touch for an online appointment.
