If you could live your life over again, what would you do differently? It’s a big question – and some answers may be surprising – but I think most of us would want to make better use of our time.

We would most likely choose to spend time with the people we love, do the things we most enjoy, and be really present in those moments.

We can all get bogged down with ambition – that unconscious need to validate ourselves and satisfy the ego, to justify our existence with work and making money, and to ignore what really matters most.

I was watching an Instagram reel the other day, which was incredibly poignant. It was about Winnie the Pooh (we’ve just had a grandson!). When Christopher Robin goes off to school, he tells his friends in the Hundred Acre Wood that he won’t be around to play so much anymore. The joy of playing would be sacrificed for work. This is something many of us can relate to.

It is about balance, but taking some time out to prioritise yourself and your well-being is so vital to mental and physical health. When we ignore this, things can really start to unravel.

Steve and I love our work, and it does give us a great sense of purpose, but becoming grandparents has shifted things for both of us – and we’re enjoying this change in perspective. Yesterday, I sat for an hour in a cafe, just watching our grandson sleep while his mother had an appointment to attend nearby. Having that “time” with him was wonderful and something I know with my own children I didn’t do very often – because when your children sleep you tend to use the time to get things done!

Hypnotherapy can give you that time back. We use guided visualisation to calm the body and mind and fire up those feel-good endorphins. It is an incredibly relaxing and restorative therapy that provides an opportunity to regroup and re-set.

The stresses of our busy lives and the lasting effects of past events can leave us feeling overloaded and overwhelmed.

Thankfully, with hypnotherapy, the subconscious part of the mind can be reprogrammed, so whatever you want and need will become possible. You will be able to move forward and create the life you want to lead  – which can include more time!

So don’t wait – seize the moment and contact Steve or me for an online appointment.

The final line in The House at Pooh Corner by A.A. Milne serves as a perfect conclusion to the story emphasising the enduring nature of friendship and that it will be timeless even with the challenges of life, growing up and work…

Wherever they go, and whatever happens to them on the way, in that enchanted place on the top of the Forest, a little boy and his Bear will always be playing.
